What to Wear to a West Coast Swing Social

Check whether the social is casual or themed, then choose a look you enjoy moving in. Pack a fresh top if needed. Follow that organiser’s guidance instead of assuming all WCS events dress alike.

Plan for this social, not every dance event

Read the specific event’s description for a theme or dress requirement. A casual studio social and a larger party may invite different styling. Choose an outfit you enjoy within that guidance, then test it with familiar steps before leaving.

Look at sleeves, hems and loose cords as well as the overall shape. Check the complete top-and-bottom combination at the waistband. If you keep adjusting it at home, choose another cut rather than hope it becomes less distracting once the music starts.

Pack around the dance outfit

A fresh tee can be useful if you like changing during a longer evening. Keep it separate from worn clothing, and take that clothing out of your bag when you get home. A removable layer can cover the journey without adding trailing fabric to the outfit you dance in.

Our tees and bags can bring a community message to a simple social look. Compare the selected garment’s measurements, composition and care details. A print expressing that you dance both roles is optional; ask your partner which role you each want rather than treat the shirt as a fixed instruction.
